About the service
The service assesses patients with disorders and injuries of the bones and muscles (orthopaedics).
The aim of the clinic is to assess patients and determine the most appropriate course of action to manage and improve their symptoms.
This service allows patients to be assessed and, where required, investigated and treated quickly.
The Musculoskeletal & Orthopaedic Service can assess, diagnose and treat many different musculoskeletal conditions, including:
- Back and neck pain
- Sciatica
- Osteoarthirits
- Sports injuries
- Joint pains (hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow and hand problems)
- Nerve entrapment, such as carpal tunnel etc)
- Foot problems, such as bunions, planter fasciitis
- Biomechanical problems in need of orthotics (artificial supports or braces)
Musculoskeletal Trauma
The department of Musculoskeletal Trauma offers treatment for patients with multiple trauma injuries. The all-inclusive orthopaedic trauma program including hand, spine and musculoskeletal specialties provides comprehensive care in every multi-trauma patient following the most modern and up-to-date management protocols.
Major Joint Replacement & Reconstruction Unit
Hip, knee, shoulder and other joint replacement surgeries (both primary and revision) are the major focus in this unit. Commitment to a postoperative rehabilitation plan designed by the treating physician, and to physiotherapy is important to getting the most benefit from surgery and to returning to normal activities. Patients enjoy very good to excellent results from their total joint replacement surgeries.
Arthroscopy/Sports Injuries
The Sports Injuries Unit has received local and national recognition for its contributions to the field of sports medicine orthopaedics. It includes athlete’s patient care using the most advanced orthopaedic and surgical therapy routines, research, education, and community service.
